~ JOY JOY ~

JOY JOY ~ is another encaustic experiment on card stock with rubber stamping and pastels; then covered with several layers of clear encaustic paints with silver glitter emersed in the wax paints. The card stock was then glued on to recycled wood. Will probably drill holes & put rivets in so one might hang this piece on the wall. Fun! Fun! Fun!

~CHAKRA II~

~ CHAKRA II ~ Chakra healing helps to disperse unbalanced energy. The area of the body the second chakra is in the spleen & liver area and its color is orange.(For more info on Chakras see my other blog http://artmusedog.blogspot.com) See link to the blog the right above ~

This chakra was painted with pastel oil sticks on card stock;then coated and fused with encaustic paints ~ and trimmed with silver pen.All my encaustic creations are at the exploratory stage and somewhat playful at times ~ taking the fear out of "being perfect" ~ Stay tuned for more encaustic art experiments.

EXPERIMENTATION IN ENCAUSTIC PAINTING ~ "Blue Angel"

~ ROOT CHAKRA ~

This painting is an experiment if "encaustic painting" ~ It is my first one and the look I was trying to create was a feeling of antiquity. Encaustic painting of many of you know is an ancient technique that was first used over 2500 years ago ~ In Egypt, they would use wax to paint the face of the person buried in the mummy and thus it is not a new technique. More recently in the 1960's Jasper Johns was and still is a noted "encaustic painter" ~ Not only can one paint scenes; one can also include in mixed media and wax in "objects" of choice.

Exploring and play with art ~ fun! fun! fun! ~ also can be dangerous using hot tools!
