POETRY SUNDAY

FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE STORM

A CREATIVE HARBOR

POETRY SUNDAY

SUN AND CLOUD

'Stand aside
And clear out of my path;
I will not be denied,'
The swaggering sun in his wrath
Cried out of the cloud.
"I refuse to be cowed;
You're an arrogant bully,"
Retorted the cloud,
"And my rights to the sky are as fully
Established as yours,
As long as heaven endures."

The empty blusterer
Receded, withholds his torrid luster,
As, tranquilly, across the darkening lawn,
The gradual shade is drawn.

  1. I hope you were safe. Irene was something else, I have never seen anything like this. We have this in So. FL, but to have that many landfalls and flooding in that many places is - I have no words. Blessings, Janet
