GORGEOUS SKY INSPIRES ME TO PICK UP MY CAMERA

A CREATIVE HARBOR

Welcome to our blog where life is seen through the eyes of an artist's soul and we explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

The above photo is for a prompt, 'what inspires me to pick up my camera?' from Bella's 52 Photos Project. I find that nature fills my spirit with magical feelings when I view its beauty. Being human, that does not always happen every moment, which is fortunate because otherwise my central nervous system would short circuit and we all know what that means. So I enjoy the moments when my 'attention' is focused and I can be awed and see the 'sacred in the ordinary.' Also linked with Watery Wednesday.

Then there is the need for silence sometimes and thus, I am linked with Wordless Wednesday blogs, Aquariann's and David's Life and In Him We Live.

When silence isn't working, I revert to my poetry and quiet times creating haiku, a very short type of Japanese poem consisting of 3 lines and 17 syllabes. Below are my haiku for Haiku Sensational ~ prompt was the word 'draft'.

haiku

I

a door ajar, draft

cool air breezing in claiming

space, invading home.

~ carol l mckenna

II

I write, I ponder

words, syllables, count seven

rough draft to get it right

~ carol l mckenna

III

hand, wrist, hurt pain

writing too many haiku drafts

soothing the soul mind.

~ carol l mckenna

Hugs and namaste,
