Sunday Sketches, Post Cards from Paradise, Haiku Heights

Sunday Sketches ~ My Asian style Sketch

Welcome to our blog where we view life from an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring the process of sketching which can be done using many mediums. You will find many different styles at Sophie's Sunday Sketches. We are also viewing photos with a photography link at Rebecca's Post Cards from Paradise. The photo below is where my true paradise lies currently ~ in our 'inner sanctum'. As the saying goes, 'there is no place like home.' You are viewing it from the 'Queen's perspective as her eyes are on me in the kitchen.

Our Inner Sanctum
Last, but not least is words for the soul, haiku at Haiku Heights. Check out the talented poets here. Below are my haiku which actually got posted on my Saturday post as I misunderstood the new schedule. (my excuse is I just had a very dear friend and colleague past on)  For the whole month of April poets will be posting a haiku a day.  Am not sure how many days I will do so.
Wish me luck.

Below are my three haiku: (prompt word was 'eager')

Sweet Saturdays, Haiku Heights, Writing on Wall

'SOMETHING SWEET'

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the eyes of an artist soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring creativity through two blogs, Sweet Saturdays which promotes all types of creativity. The second blog is Haiku Heights and promotes poetic creativity. Also Writing on the Wall (click on either blog to go there)

Above is a photo of a Grandmother doll created by a Native American Indian that I bought at local Museum. Unfortunately it does not have the creator's name on the card. Look closely and you will see the baby's face is looking up into the Grandmother's face. I thought this was too endearing and sweet not to purchase. Hope you think so too.

Below is a special rock wall at one of our favorite beaches for Writing on the Wall.

Waters ~ Nature

Cape Ann MA Beach

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the eyes of an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring the impact of water on all of us. The blog we are linked to is Nature Footstep ~ 'Waters' is the theme and being hosted from Stockholm. Whether it is the ocean, lake or a pond, most humans are drawn to it, little children love it and can even find a puddle anywhere ~ especially if you say 'don't. So the spirit is calmed, renewed, healed by water. Our bodies are composed of ninety odd percent of water ~ we spend 9 months surrounded by amniotic fluid. Who wouldn't be drawn to a familiar feeling and space. Who knows maybe we evolved from the the ocean many centuries ago. Enjoy the link above, Nature Footstep ~ no carbon print there.

Use highlighted link in 2nd paragraph to go there.

The photo above is of a local beach that I have walked on many times. More recently it is one of the chosen places for walks with my little Yorkie. We are always walking near water or even in it. She is very tiny but has been taking long walks since she was a puppy. Now she is 5 years old and still walks along at a very speedy clip. We are blessed with many such locations to walk and all very close to home.

ArtMuse Dog is my assistant and here she is resting after her daily constitutional. Rather wintry, windy and cold here. So we are both rather 'spent'.

We love to have you post your comments, thoughts or ideas to delight us all in the day ~ especially ArtMuse Dog ^_^

On Mondays we have our very own blog hop Magical Monday Meme and it is very inclusive ~ artists, photographers, crafters, poets, moms, dads, knitter, crocheters, bakers ~ It is all magic in the day ~ if you can see it. Come join us and 'let your light shine'. We would love to have you.

Haiku, Watery Wordless Wednesday and Giggles

52 Photos Project (prompt was 'what makes me laugh') ~Son's Xmas Decoration does!

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the  eyes of an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring what photography, haiku, silence and laughter adds to living a more balanced and creative life. Our exploring is done by linking up with various blogs with a variety of creative styles. Those blogs are 52 Photos Project which is what the first photo above is about as the 'prompt word was laughter). It just makes me giggle when I see it. It is a Christmas decoration with some humor. The other photo is for Outdoor Wednesday and Watery Wednesday taken shortly after a hurricane. Then we have Sensational Haiku and my three haiku are below for the word prompt (fiction). Because it is Wednesday, we are also linked to three Wordless Wednesdays as silence is always good for the soul. They are Aquariann's, Dave's and In Him. Click on any of the colored links to see these blogs.

MAGICAL MONDAY MEME,MACRO MON, CREATIVE EVERYDAY

ATC CARDS

Welcome to our blog where we view life through the eyes of an artist soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today and every Monday we are hosting MAGICAL MONDAY MEME to explore a variety of modes of creative expression. We believe that everyone is creative in their own way, that creativity, in fact, is spiritual and can be a very healing medium to strengthen the inner spirit or soul. Whether you are being creative with your hands, mind, heart, (more likely with all of them,) you are creative. How you manifest your creativity comes through a strong belief in your self. Being a parent, a worker, a wife, husband, mother, father, daughter, child, grand parent, single person, you are filled with magic each day to decide how you want to utilize your time.

Come share with us the magic in your life, the silly, the major or minor ways you see magic bringing creative thinking into your life. It could be how you parent, how you solve problems, how you cook, photograph, sketch, paint, play, knit, or write and more. These are just a few suggestions. The above  photo is a piece of 'magic' in my day. Why? I had forgotten about these little creations only to discover them when I was trying to declutter my studio. It was such a delightful find as it reminded me of how detailed I could be in sketching and how atcs actually improved my art ability. Even magic or magical living takes practice, practice, practice and then voila! It seems like Magic!

To link up with Magical Monday Meme, go to the bottom of this post and click 'enter' then fill in your url to your Magical Monday Meme. Please make sure it is a direct link to that post and please leave a link to us on your blog. You can copy the 'button on the side bar' or just use a link that is above on your blog dashboard. Keep it simple; you know how to do it. Looking forward to all the wonderful ways bloggers are creative.

SUNDAY SKETCHES and POST CARDS from PARADISE

ASIAN BRUSH PAINTING from MY SKETCHBOOK

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the eyes of the artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Come join us today in exploring sketches from various artists at Sophie's BlueChairDiary Illustrations and photography at Rebecca's Post Cards from Paradise.

SUNDAY SKETCHES

The above sketch is another one of my Asian brush paintings and was done in my sketchbook. It is a type of duck called a 'rosybill.' I found a photo in one of the wild life publications that I receive and had no copyright. The color red, of course, caught my eye and it is for Sunday Sketches.

POST CARDS from PARADISE

The photo below is for Post Cards from Paradise and was taken recently at a local beach. It is one of our many places to go for our 'daily walks and commune with nature.' We are grateful to live in such a wonderful 'paradise'.

We hope you have enjoyed our sketch and our photo and will visit the other wonderful artists and photographers and feed your soul with the wonderful creations.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

SWEET SATURDAYS and HAIKU HEIGHTS

SWEET SATURDAYS ~ GOT GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the eyes of an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring what can be 'sweet in your life' at Sweet Saturdays and what spark poetry and poets at Haiku Heights add to your life. (click on the blog titles to go there)

We need food for the body and sweets in moderation. We also need spiritual food and haiku with its succinct approach, its three lines and seventeen syllables does just that. The word prompt for the haiku was 'endurance.'

My three haiku are below:

haiku

I.

self talk, endurance
head like someone taps, tapping,
on and on, no end.

II.

meditate, peaceful
talk off now head rests at last
endurance pays off.

III.

ship sails the seas far
endurance weather fair, foul
to seek each port, home.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend and enjoyed our sweets and haiku ~

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY and HAIKU MY HEART

Welcome to our blog where we view life through the eyes of an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today's post is for Friday and that means we are exploring artists and the many different mediums for artistic expression at Paint Party Friday with Kristin and Eva and exploring poetry, more specifically, Japanese haiku at Rebecca's Haiku My Heart.
(click on the above links to go there.)

My painting above is yet another of the 'asian brush paintings' that I seem to have a strong desire to do. There is something about the simplicity of the technique that appeals to me. The same can be said for haiku ~ much gets expressed with 3 lines, 17 syllables in haiku. Here are 3 of my haiku below:

haiku

I.

temps rise up, come down
weather rather weird, March strange
summer next or spring.

II.

time flies by my eyes
each moment precious, wonderful
life, live well today.

III.

a gift, time, living
as self, like no other self
be true to me you.

Hope you enjoy exploring the artists and poets as much as we do. Happy Weekend.

Haiku Watery Wordless Wednesday and Love

Watery Whirl ~ Can you guess the water source?

Welcome to our blog where we view life from the eyes of an artist soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we are exploring it all from Haiku, Watery and Wordless.
When you stop and think about it, we need all of these concepts in our day. We need words, water and silence to urge us on through the moments in time. Share with us the poets, the photographers and the other creative bloggers by clicking on the highlighted links to go there. Hope you will take some time and ponder my photo above and my haiku below. There is an Asian saying, 'As above so below.' Something else to contemplate.

haiku
(prompt was the word 'battle')

I.

tai chi no battle
learn to fight, not to have to fight
peace within your self.

II.

no win when fight rages
dead ones silent, living trauma
wasteland of life time.

III.

on and on and on
when will we learn no win fight
losing battle dead.

Macro Monday, Creative EveryDay and Magical Monday Meme

Red Seaweed

Welcome to our blog where we view life through the eyes of an artist soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.

Today we exploring magic in our creativity with our own blog hop, Magical Monday Meme. Link up below and join us in meeting new and not so new creative bloggers. We are also exploring more artists at Creative Everyday and photographers at Macro Monday.

The photo above of the Red Seaweed was photographed on one of my walks on the beach with ArtMuse Dog. I had never seen red seaweed until last week on a blog. It was a magical feeling when I arrived on the beach to see this 'red seaweed' right in front of my nose. What was happening? Suddenly, my perception was seeing through a different filter and providing evidence of just what daily creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit. What was even more magical was the final photo and the very delicate and lacy look that appeared in the macro photo.

I wonder what magic you have found in your daily creating? Also, hoping that you will share it with us by linking up to our Magical Monday Meme below.

Enjoy the week and may you see the magic in your days.
