Art, Poetry, Photography Sunday

For Sunday Sketches

Now the fun begins ~ Digging out of all the snow from the Blizzard of 2013. We are safe, cozy warm and weary, gratefully. Storms do have a way of draining the energy from people both during and after the storm.

So to renew I have relied on my photography, writing haiku and a small bit of art  to infuse my spirit with creativity. Also, I have enjoyed just 'being' and reading some books. Also watched a DVD on the Zen of Painting by Jean Carbonetti ~ delightful and inspiring.

For Carpe Diem Haiku ~ Chiyo-Ni Style

For 'Shadow Shot Sunday'

The above shot is of an electronic candle that I leave in the kitchen window all year as a symbol of the Spirit of Light that is with me always.

For 'Weekly To Shot' ~
The Blizzard of 2013 through the window.

It may not be my 'top shot' but it is what I have been looking at for several days now and there is beauty there.

  9. The candle, even electronic, leaves a flame that flickers so we know it is alive, a sign of life. A small sign maybe, but it feels alive. The Blizzard 0f 2013 is an inconvenience for sure - but the purity of fresh snow, in any amount, is beautiful despite its cost. Yet, all this snow now leaves full reservoirs this summer as it melts. In this way, the blizzard is a blessing!
