A SHUTTERBUG EXPLORES ~ 8

'It's no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.'
~ J.R.R. Tolkien

A Shutterbug is exploring Cape Ann MA each week with her camera and her assistant as always. We do look for 'the magic' and sometimes it appears when we are seemingly not looking. What a gift. What treasures nature offers to each of us.

We start our 'blogland' week on late Monday afternoon for Tuesday and then add a post each day. Hope you will make a return visit and share with us.

  22. I had forgotten that Art's real name is Zoe. Perfect for your "Z" word. She is sooo cute, please post her often. I miss my Adi and Katrin dogs a lot.
Thank you for the Veterans Day remembrance. I seem to take them more personally as I age. I spent five years in the Army, all except for eight weeks basic training in El Paso, Texas, at Fort Bliss. Basic training was also in Texas, at Fort Hood.
The U.K. celebrates November as Remembrance Day. In the U.S. " Veterans Day ceremonies are largely secular and certainly not dominated by a single religion. In Britain however, the clergy in the Church of England are part and parcel of Remembrance Day. Other religions are represented at the official commemoration at the Cenotaph but there is a ceremony at Westminster Abbey first. There is no getting around the Queen’s role as head of the Church of England." (Engage.com) England also has a poppy fiactory to supply Britain and Canada. We have one. It is not a work holiday there, only by proclamation is there a two minute period of silence at 11:11.
.. (Sorry this got so long.)
