  14. I'd hate to see a seagull come close to Bonnie-Belinda. She'd undoubtedly try to attack it, and might lose an eye or an ear in the process. Still, I do love seagulls...I lived on the British Columbia coast for most of my adult life, and never saw one nesting. No sooner had I moved away (or so it seems) a nest complete with female and eggs, was spotted up in the roofline of the old train station/museum.
    Sigh.
There are freshwater gulls here in southeastern Alberta, but they just aren't the same, somehow.

  15. Gaff-rigged sailboats...my favourite! Long ago, in another lifetime it seems, I worked for a boating publication, and saw many sailboats, and the gaff-riggers became my favourites.
