Welcome to our blog where we view life through the eyes of an artist's soul and explore what creativity can do to enhance the inner spirit.
Today's post is for Friday and that means we are exploring artists and the many different mediums for artistic expression at Paint Party Friday with Kristin and Eva and exploring poetry, more specifically, Japanese haiku at Rebecca's Haiku My Heart.
(click on the above links to go there.)
My painting above is yet another of the 'asian brush paintings' that I seem to have a strong desire to do. There is something about the simplicity of the technique that appeals to me. The same can be said for haiku ~ much gets expressed with 3 lines, 17 syllables in haiku. Here are 3 of my haiku below:
haiku
I.
temps rise up, come down
weather rather weird, March strange
summer next or spring.
II.
time flies by my eyes
each moment precious, wonderful
life, live well today.
III.
a gift, time, living
as self, like no other self
be true to me you.
Hope you enjoy exploring the artists and poets as much as we do. Happy Weekend.
Hugs and namaste,

The brush painting goes so perfectly with haiku! Summer next or spring for you too - don't know which we'll have here...
ReplyDeleteI like the painting. I also like the haiku, all of them. They send ripples of peace and the first one would make me wonder, will it be Spring or Summer. The weather is confusing but appreciated. Very nice overall.
ReplyDeleteMuch Peace

I love your haikus. Weather here is very weird. One of these days it's be Spring.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is adorable, and I especially like your first haiku - it describes the weather here perfectly! Have a lovely Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHow time flies... your painting and haiku reminds me of the days when I watched 'Bambi' (disney movie) with my son when he was a todler... he moved out last year but I remember well.
ReplyDeleteLovely haiku. The second one coaxes me to get cracking at my sometimes procrastinating self.
ReplyDeleteThe combination of images and words is awesome! Such a flow in both.
