|WIP ~ Goddess Collage ~ Nearing Completion|
Friday Post and that means artists and poets showing what they have been creating recently. The above photo is of a 5" x 5" Goddess Collage, a mixed media work, created on artist canvas with a 2 inch cradle. It is composed of oil pastels, pan pastels, acrylics and specialty paper. I am still working on this piece which is the second in a series of four. This is a completely new experience to be taking so much time on a creation. Must admit that being back to Yoga and studying Taoism seems to have given me permission to simplify and slow the pace of my life. Along with collage, Asian Brush painting and some watercolor I am still creating Japanese poetry called haiku. Wonder what you have been creatively working on this past week?
Below is my recent haiku and we are linked today to two very creative blogs:
Paint Party Friday
Haiku My Heart
calm before the storm
ocean still, few birds sing song
sky grey, ominous.
storming fast through harbor side
earth needs attention.
after the rain, fresh
cleansed by mother nature
love all around you.
Hope you will enjoy the lovely artistic creations and the wondrous poetic forms.
Wishing you a fun and loving weekend.
Hugs and namaste,
We love to have you post your comments, thoughts or questions to delight us all in the day ~ especially, ArtMuse Dog ^_^
QUOTE FOR THE DAY: 'Parents often talk about the younger generation as if they didn't have anything to do with it.'
This is a very lovely creation!ReplyDelete
Your work of art in progress is gorgeous. The Taoism and yoga infuse your art. Your words evoke peace and a sense of stability. Thank you.ReplyDelete

It is raining here. The first gentle, soaking rain in a long time. Refreshing and sweet. I hope your Friday is the same!
I love your creation in progress. I makes me want to sit and meditate now! So thank you for that.ReplyDelete
I looked at the art and read all the words. What stood out for me today was the idea that earth needed attention and that the Sacred Earth Mother answered her child's call.ReplyDelete
I know there is much much more in this post, but I am satisfied to concentrate on that thought for a while. Perhaps a visit again, later if I can find the time.
I did finally get your blog listed on my side bar during the past week.
Beautifully done, as always.ReplyDelete
The rains have been cleansing everything here, as well...Mother Nature is awesome!ReplyDelete

Hello Carol, it is lovely watching the face of your goddess emerge. From your haiku I have this image of you nestled in your studio, with summer storms bringing rain to the earth, much as you bring the paintbrush and pen to your creations... It has been a week of much creativity, paint and word over here as well! Have a beautiful weekend!ReplyDelete
I can feel the "ominisity" (I know that's not a word, but it sounds so delightful on the tongue--try it!) as that storm approaches. )))shiver(((ReplyDelete

Hi, I find it is almost impossible for me to be on this website, I know my machine is slow, but I believe there are too many 'flash' objects and Apple doesn't do Flash. . . .I love your work, but if I don't visit often, it's b/c I'm not able to. Blessings, Janet PPFReplyDelete
