Around the World Photographers Thursday

Rocky Neck ~ Cultural District on Cape Ann MA

K is for keel for Alpahbe Thursday ~ 'timber of plate running length wise along the center of the bottom of a ship' ~ even smaller boats have keels.

haiku

without my keel where?
centered, focused, finding
self off course often.

I live in a coastal town on the Northeast coast of New England. We have our rural areas and yet you can find a tiny rural piece near the center part of town that suggests Rural Thursday as in this photo below of a tiny sparrow that seemed to pose for me.

'Bird on a Post'

Enjoy the photographers from Around the World with the two blogs we are sharing with today Rural Thursday Journal and Alphabe Thursday. Both are very creative bloggers.

Hugs and namaste,

We love to have you post your comments, thoughts or questions to delight us all in the day ~ especially, ArtMuse Dog ^_^

  1. Hi Carol,

Your photos are stunning! How did you ever get that Sparrow to pose for you? I'm so glad you stopped by to visit. With gardening and summer activities I haven't had time to participate in Alphabe-Thursday.

  9. Carol, we are moving from Tucson to coastal Georgia on Monday. I really love the rural life and Brunswick is a town of only 30,000 people. I love your photos, as always.

  10. I just love your header - sooo beautiful! And, you know I have a fond spot for New England, especially Maine, right? Just coming to your blog makes me wanna head north to visit all those quaint little New England towns along the coast and oh my! The seafood is so delicious - the best! I only like eating seafood when I'm in New England no other place. Okay, I lied just a bit. I will eat crab cakes on occasion at a few select restaurants in town. Very nice homey feeling 'K' post!

    Thanks for visiting today, Cathy

  17. The harbor looks like a great place to be. I live in Omaha, Nebraska. There is not a lot of Rural happenings around here either. My kids however love the outdoor. I capture what I can.

  21. Well, now I know the difference between a keel and a rudder.....great shot of Smith's Cove, and your avian friend....and, I, too, am often off course - if I even know the course to begin with!

  24. Hi Colette -- I like your "K" post. Yes, "K"eels are a necessary part of the boat. Every kind except perhaps a raft. The Harbor is pretty, almost smothered though with boats.

When we lived in Manchester (NH) we would go to Seabrook for seafood and to Hampton for the beach. But I can't remember ever driving down to Cape Ann.
