(I am a new backyard birder ~ can anyone tell me what this sweet bird is?) A finch???

  7. Yes, Definitely an American Goldfinch. Watching them change into their summer plumage is one of my favorite things to do in early spring. The bright yellow is always a welcome sight telling me that summer is on its way.
