A ShutterBug Explores ~ Saturday Critters

'If God exists he is isn't just churches and mathematics.

He is the forest. He's the desert. He's the ice caps that are dying.

He's the ghetto and the Museum of Fine Arts.'

~ Mary Oliver

Dove on Cape Ann MA

~ the doves and other birds are enjoying the feeders
making a mess at times with the seeds
~ sometimes they sit on deck rail
~ rather cold here in MA so most feed
then fly off

  1. Hello,
Sweet dove photo. I am sure they appreciate the food on these cold days. Love the quote! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend.

  2. Great photo of a beautiful bird!

  3. I love the peace I feel in the forest. Love your photo today too! Hugs!

  4. Carol doves tickle me. Lately I've had one that times the arrival perfectly no birds at any of the 4 feeders so it picks a feeder gets comfy in the tray . Sleeps a little eats a little. Kinda smart
33 for a here here today with feels like in the 20's
    I love the quote.
    Warm hugs x 2

  5. Doves always look so peaceful and vulnerable.
You can never go wrong with a snippet of poetry from Mary Oliver.

  6. That's a pretty dove and I'm glad it found the food jackpot!

  7. The birds have been busy during this cold weather.
    Stay warm, Hugs!

  8. Such a pretty photo. Have a very nice day today.

  9. I love doves. I've even come to love Pigeons. What I really appreciate are the pigeons and doves clean up all the seed from the feeders that fall to the ground so less weeds around. Love the quote.

  10. I know they appreciate the free buffet. Yes, the doves are messy.

  11. Such a lovely photograph.
The birds really do appreciate the feeders.

    All the best Jan

  12. That's a lovely picture in the snow.
