Artists and Poets Friday

New Asian style painting

Friday post ~ means Artists and Poets. The above photo is a new Asian style painting that I just did this evening. Below are the Sketchbook Project (works in progress) with a theme of blessing bowls (see previous posts) the photo below is the inside of the cover done with asian papers and then brush style bowls ~ hoping to give them somewhat of an ancient look. The last photo is of the cover itself; once again hoping to create an older look to the blessing bowl. Below all the photos are my haiku. Enjoy.

cool breezes float in
autumnal equinox time
seasons changing soon.

autumn leaves falling down
going dormant to ground home
recycle back springtime.

way of natural
stages of development
cycling through our life.

  25. I was working on my studio porch yesterday and realized that the wind was blustery and cooler...it had autumn written all over it! I know we'll get Indian summer - we always do - but the nights are already cooler and there's no denying the change in the air. Beautiful, evokative haikus!

  38. I honestly love all of your Asian Style paintings, but this one is more elaborate and detailed than the others. I like it a lot! I love the Haiku and the reference to the Equinox. That's coming soon. Time for a big outdoor fire in the back yard fire pit. How i wish this circle of Haiku My Heart friends could join me around the fire for the evening. Imagine the sparkling conversation. Very nice indeed!

    Peace

    1. The concept originally came from monks from a particular monastery who each morning took their bowl out to the village and begged for their meal for the day ~ I turned it into the concept of a 'blessing bowl' and how each day we are blessed with what comes into 'our bowls' 'our life~ there is a post about this and it is somewhat of a Taoist based philosophy ~ that all are blessings ~ whatever happens ~ thanks for asking ~ namaste, C ^_^
