For Sunday Sketches
Now the fun begins ~ Digging out of all the snow from the Blizzard of 2013. We are safe, cozy warm and weary, gratefully. Storms do have a way of draining the energy from people both during and after the storm.
So to renew I have relied on my photography, writing haiku and a small bit of art to infuse my spirit with creativity. Also, I have enjoyed just 'being' and reading some books. Also watched a DVD on the Zen of Painting by Jean Carbonetti ~ delightful and inspiring.

For 'Shadow Shot Sunday'
The above shot is of an electronic candle that I leave in the kitchen window all year as a symbol of the Spirit of Light that is with me always.
For 'Weekly To Shot' ~
The Blizzard of 2013 through the window.
It may not be my 'top shot' but it is what I have been looking at for several days now and there is beauty there.

QUOTE FOR THE DAY: 'Every gift from a friend is a wish for happiness.' ~ Richard Bach
Hi Carol! I love your shots this week. I really like the tiny slip of shadow lines on the blinds...very creative!ReplyDelete
Happy weekend! :-)
Is "what" the answer to your question? :)ReplyDelete
Beautiful soft atmosphere in these photos! Adore the light and shadow on the blinds!ReplyDelete
A great serie of shots!ReplyDelete
Nice to see!
your snowy window shot is perfect- and I like the idea of a light in the window representing the spirit of light within us. Stay warm and safe !ReplyDelete
Glad you're safe from the blizzard! And I love your Carpe Diem Haiku :) xoReplyDelete
Another lovely post Carol. We had a snowstorm as well, I love the beauty of winter. ArtMuse looks snuggled in, and as cute as ever!ReplyDelete
Lovely candle shadows for the day!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Carol!ReplyDelete
The candle, even electronic, leaves a flame that flickers so we know it is alive, a sign of life. A small sign maybe, but it feels alive. The Blizzard 0f 2013 is an inconvenience for sure - but the purity of fresh snow, in any amount, is beautiful despite its cost. Yet, all this snow now leaves full reservoirs this summer as it melts. In this way, the blizzard is a blessing!ReplyDelete
wonderful how deep that haiku is.. and how it makes the reader reflect after..ReplyDelete
Love the photo of the blizzard through the window. The sketches of the flowers are lovely, you have such a light touch!ReplyDelete
A well done haiku in Chiyo-Ni's style.ReplyDelete
Wow, is all I can say about the blizzard, and it looks like another storm is heading your way in a day or two... stay warm and safe! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #69!ReplyDelete
I receive this post as a good new year gift.ReplyDelete
A lot of happiness.
Happy SS...looks like you've found the perfect creative way to ride out the storm! beautiful poetry and awesome art.ReplyDelete
Love that you leave the candle lit in the window all year. I am afraid that I am going to be looking at a blizzard through the window as Orko descends on Minnesota tomorrow.ReplyDelete
beautiful flower sketches!ReplyDelete
I think that glancing through your window is as close as I'd care to get to your blizzard. Glad you're safe and warm. Keep that candle burning. Namaste.ReplyDelete
Love the cards and your photos. Gosh, that is alot of snow...we have got rain rain rain. Stay warm and safe.. :)ReplyDelete
Lovely post Carol, it's snowing here too, now for three days straight! Love your loose sketches and really true haiku! <3ReplyDelete
It is good to be aware that things are useless. There will come a time when we leave it all behind!ReplyDelete
No Spring Rain
the candle in the window is sweet.ReplyDelete
Fantastic sketches, they make a lovely collection!ReplyDelete
The snow is beautiful, ESPECIALLY if you're viewing it from a window while sitting in the warm house (my favorite way to admire it). :)ReplyDelete
Carol, we share a similar frozen vista!...but it has been inspiring. I keep red xmas lights on my terrace year round to keep that perpetual light shining ...love your candle and your words are so true...BUT we can take that light with us and leave some behind for those we love...thanks for oyur insights and for ArtMuseDog! I love seeing that face! I am happy you have such a faithful companion.ReplyDelete
