Through the Lens Week 47

'If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.'

A new scene for Cape Ann MA ~ a pink sky at end of day. I was bursting with delight.
Yesterday we even had some sun and temperatures in the 30's. Doesn't take much to please us these days.

A slightly different version of photo above only in Black and White ~
Doesn't this look so inviting? Up north in the ski resorts, yes. Not here.

'Oh! So this where Spring is?

(Due to snowstorms practically every week making it hard to get out and about ~ I have had to be creative and use what I have or take photos from the deck.)

'Again, little snowflakes, make big snow banks; I am too little.

Been an extraordinary Winter in New England on Cape Ann MA

We are wishing you the best in each day. xo

Your posted comments are bringing sunshine into our day. thanks

  3. Some days are not a walk in the park! But I love your water views. Often my world is what I can see through the windows.

  10. what lovely photos. Isn't it funny how after such harsh weather for so long we tend to think of the thirties as balmy:):). Too bad it only lasted one day, but Spring is less then one month away now!

  15. When you are as small as Artmuse Dog, you have to be really fascinated by that cold wet stuff piled up so high!

  16. This unrelenting winter in some parts of the globe makes it hard to get if you have short legs and small furry feet.

  17. Hello greetings and good wishes.

    Lovely photos with interesting commentary.

The quote by JFK is very thought provoking. In western countries perhaps artists can do what ever they want and get away with. For instance, Dan Brown who wrote Da Vinci Code. But at the same time we all know what happened to the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo. So artists must use their unlimited freedom very carefully in certain matters particularly religion.

Unlimited freedom carries with it huge responsibility.

    Best wishes

  25. Your little dog is so sweet and short like my Boston Terrier...those snow banks can be a challenge. My husband uses our snowblower and makes paths throughout our yard, we call it the Boston Marathon Track!

  26. Silly snow! I wonder if it will ever go away! Your area of the country has been hammered worse than we have in Colorado but it is still driving me mad! I have no desire to drive in it these days and so my hubby drove to the bus. I hope you are safe and warm. You share the best photos and I hope you are enjoying the weather from the warmth of your home.

  36. Poor little Art Muse Dog… my big dog is able to go out and play in the deep snow with me. My cat looks out the window longingly though. Beautiful photos… the birds keep reassuring me that spring is indeed on the way… also the bright buds. I collected some downed branches today and placed them in water… we'll see what happens. At least this way they have a chance to develop fully.
