SHUTTERBUG EXPLORES ~ 9

'I go to nature to be soothed and healed
and have my senses put in order.' ~ John Burroughs

November 24 ~
Will return next week ~ Still in 'recovery mode'. Joyful blessings to all. xox

A Shutterbug is exploring Cape Ann MA each week with her camera and her assistant as always. We do look for 'the magic' and sometimes it appears when we are seemingly not looking.
What a gift. What treasures nature offers to each of us.

We start our 'blogland' week on late Monday afternoon for Tuesday and then add a post each day. Hope you will make a return visit and share with us.

Warm Heart Wednesday is about Jenny's link for what 'warms our heart'  ~ What warmed my heart this week was simple pleasures of walking with my doggie, signing up for an art/photo show, sunshine after 2 dreary cold days. Reading blogs that acknowledged the people of Paris and praying for peace for them. Waking up feeling good most days.

  1. I especially like the first photo which strongly contrasts both shape and texture. I really admire the attention to detail in your photos.

  2. Oh, yes! Winter is on its way here in Oregon, too!! Hope you and Artmuse stay warm and dry!!

  3. Very pretty! For a few seconds I wondered if you had snow in that first photo (we're supposed to get 10 to 20 inches tonight). Have a wonderful week!

    ReplyDelete
  4. I like the first one best. It makes it seem so cold.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I like the lighter # 1 B&W photo, Carol, and the color photo best! We are getting snow tonight--winter has arrived in my area :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Fabulous shots - love that first one.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It is hard to believe the trees survive in what appears to be a stark environment. If this is the impression you wanted to create then the first photo does it for me.

  8. they are all lovely. The second one is very atmospheric but I do prefer the first one. And I always love a photo showing sand and water-even if it is in winter:) Happy week to you and Zoe!

  9. Hi! I like the second B & W photo very much. Thanks for sharing.

  10. All three photos are great !
I like the last one, because the brown-color-shadows are so impressive !

  15. I like that you find the Magic in all of your Shots.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love the black and white photos!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I really like the first image. It has a 'naked' quality to it that the original colour version doesn't. It makes me think of winter and solitude.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like the first one because it reveals the trees structure. I like the intricate shapes of winter trees. Of course I'm a beach lover any season so I like the last one too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Love the stark beach image. Glad to see you joined Jenny. Of course, you have an adorable little heart-warmer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I liked one the best, but I think two probably represents the beginning of winter better...kind of cold and dreary looking. Of course, my dog warms my heart too. My prayers are for peace too.

  21. Hi Carol, this is a nice post. You do really have warming things in your life. I am glad for you. And for Art, she is a cute dog and you framed her very nicely.
My pick is picture #1, straight out of the camera. They sure are bare. Our will have leave for a few more weeks, it will get down to the upper forty's a couple of times this week and next.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like the first photo -- and of the two you asked about, the first b&w one! Mostly I like ArtMuse Dog because she always warms everyone's heart!

  30. You've captured a lovely sky in that first photo.
I enjoyed your Haiku - I love crows and watching them.
The gate is so neat with the crow motif on it.
    Your dog is adorable.
I liked the BW seawall shot. I think the 2nd one has a bit more "drama" to it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You are a little ahead in the winter thing than we are.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I came for the fences, but got so much more...I sure enjoyed the ones after the fence shot. Oh, and I liked the fence, too.

  37. I went back and forth between #1 and #2 and settled on 2, the contrast just drew me in. Love your haiku, it too, took me to the skies and that vantage point of seeing the world from a different view... thank you Carol, for taking us along on your week of looking at the world around you!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I come for the haiku and always find much more as well.

  45. I like the "S" photo for stark. Would like to be on that beach. Alone and peaceful.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I like the shadows on the marsh and the light is very pretty. I also like the dramatic black and white shot as the drama makes the stones and trees better defined.

    ReplyDelete
  47. A wonderful way to spend the week! Love your fallish shadows!

    ReplyDelete
  48. The cloudy skies over the cape are pretty incredible!
