A ShutterBug Explores ~ Our World Tuesday

'The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946.
That is not so long ago. Until then, where was all the food? Dear Folks,
the food was in homes, gardens, local fields and forests. It was near kitchens,
near tables, near bedsides. It was in the pantry, the cellar, the backyard.'

  3. That is such a beautiful scene! Yes, some folks these days think the food only comes from the grocery stores, it's sad.

  5. It does look like a beautiful day with a breeze to keep you cooler.
The quote brought back some nice memories for me. My parents had one of those neighborhood groceries when I was very young. When the big super market came to town it put them out of business. I can remember when my Dad went to work for the Super Market. He wasn't there long.
