A ShutterBug Explores ~ SkyWatch Friday

'Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift.
It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of
own life, and the down the street, and all dogs not yet born. What would
the world be like without the music or rivers or the green and
tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?'
~ Mary Oliver

Another dazzling sky on Cape Ann MA.

  6. I love the poem. I am sorry to say that I had never even heard of Mary Oliver before her death but now have a book of her poems on my bedside table. Thy are so accessible yet profound.

My wife and I had to have our beloved dachsund mix, Ginger put to sleep yesterday. She was fourteen years old and lived a full life and we kept her going for as long as we could but it was time. So maybe Ginger and Zoe are friends in dog heaven.
